As many of you have already read, heard, or seen on television news programs there have been massive waves of unchecked, violent mobs terrorizing England over the past few days. Cars are being burned, stores looted, fire bombs thrown, and wide scale assaults committed for pretty much no reason whatsoever. Is the economy bad in England? Sure, things are tough all over but the level of violence doesn’t match the level of economic strife nor does it alleviate it in any way. I mean, how does burning somebody else’s car or home or business improve an unemployed person’s financial lot? Well, it doesn’t. This is just mob mentality run amuck and mob mentality often, in fact very often, turns violent. People in America are sitting here scratching our heads wondering how this all came about, what the hell is the matter with these thugs, and if it could happen here. Well, I have bad news for you: it already is happening here and it is becoming alarmingly more frequent.
It is a new phenomenon called “Violent flash mobs” and it is becoming increasingly dangerous. I know that some of you are probably thinking “well, why haven’t I heard of this?” Well, that is a damned good question. The sad thing is, it is being reported but for some reason there isn’t a national outrage like there should be. It’s not that it isn’t being reported; it is that it is being underreported to the point where we don’t really notice it. It is surreptitiously seeping into our daily lives and, like frogs in a pan, we are not noticing it because the heat is increasing at a gradual rate. How so? Well, take this into account:
-In 2005 there was one violent flash mob of 30 people
-In 2006 there was one violent flash mob of 4 people
-In 2007 there were only two violent flash mobs the largest of which included hundreds of people
-In 2008 there were 8 violent flash mobs the largest of which was about 100 people
-In 2009 there were 10 violent flash mobs the largest of which was 100 people
-In 2010 there were 23 violent flash mobs ranging in size from a few people to 1000
-In 2011 there were 65 violent flash mobs ranging in size from five people to around a thousand people.
These mobs are popping up all over the place from rural Pennsylvania to Florida to Washington DC to Wisconsin to Alabama to New Jersey to California. They are becoming frighteningly ubiquitous.
Here are some examples of the news reports covering these events:
The man’s sister said a group of six teenage boys and two teenage girls threw rocks at him, knocked him off his bike, punched and kicked him and searched his clothes without finding any valuables. Police say members of the group called him names and made racial references before leaving him him on the roadway.
The pastor of a nearby church helped the man get to the hospital where he was treated for a broken bone in his right upper arm, a broken left wrist and a cut to his knee.
(Journal Sentinel) –Shaina Perry remembers the punch to her face, blood streaming from a cut over her eye, her backpack with her asthma inhaler, debit card and cellphone stolen, and then the laughter.
“They just said ‘Oh, white girl bleeds a lot,‘ ” said Perry, 22, who was attacked at Kilbourn Reservoir Park over the Fourth of July weekend.
Though Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn noted Tuesday that crime is colorblind, he called the Sunday night looting of a convenience store near the park and beatings of a group of people who had gone to the park disturbing, outrageous and barbaric.
……
Perry was among several who were injured by a mob they said beat and robbed them and threw full beer bottles while making racial taunts. The injured people were white; the attackers were African-American, witnesses said.
BAYONNE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – A young New Jersey man is in a coma fighting for his life after police said he was attacked by more than a dozen people over the weekend.
Police said Dawid Strucinski was on his way home from a convenience store in Bayonne around 3 a.m. Sunday morning when he came to the aid of a friend who was engaged in a fight with a group of teenagers.
As you can see it is very, very real and all around us. This is one of those things you throw into somebody’s face when they ask the (stupid) question “why does anybody need to carry a gun?!? That’s what the cops are for” Yeah, tell that to Dawid Strucinski or Shaina Perry or any of the other numerous victims. I bet if they had a gun with them at the time of their attacks, the outcome would have been much, much different. I can guarantee you that if the shit that is happening in England right now started to happen on my block, it would be over very, very quickly and there wouldn’t be any more violent flash mobs within ten miles of my house because the ensuing bloodbath and piles of dead rioters would make for a very good warning.

Every time, and I mean EVERY TIME, I see them I want to beat them to death with an entrenching tool… and by “beat them to death with an entrenching tool” I mean “shove into a cell with a violent, gay power lifter serving life for sexual assault and murder whose brother died in Iraq and whose sister died in 9/11”. See, that way they’ll really wish I had actually used an e-tool to cleave their rancid, foul, festering, ignorant guts out onto the filthy pavement for the dogs to reject and for starving rats to find too foul to ingest.
Nothing they get will be bad enough for them. I don’t want to go to the clink just for one shot at them in public, so I’ll curb my violent tendencies and use my words to wound them. They’ll probably need a dictionary to understand the more complex word structures (more than one syllable) but they’ll get the gist with my hand gestures.
