WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President-elect Barack Obama has chosen Christina Romer, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, as the head of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, a Democratic source told Reuters on Monday.
A Berkley professor on the White House Council of Economic Advisors is “reaching across the aisle”? Perhaps he meant reach across the “isle” after becoming confused over the definitions of “isle” and “continent”… totally understandable coming from a man who thought we had 57 states. This pick is far from reaching across the aisle, but it is in keeping with his “spread the wealth” campaign… although, it will most assuredly help sap all of the wealth that he intended to spread in the first place.
We’re in the middle of an economic crisis the likes of which hasn’t been seen since Paris Hilton tried to balance her own checkbook… we don’t need a tenured professor from Karl Marx University, American Campus to be on the rescue squad that bails us out of it. You see, one of the problems of switching to socialism is that it has to be done when the economy is good… and if the economy is good, most people don’t want to switch. If you switch while the economy is bad, well, watch Doctor Zhivago or the History Channel when they talk about Stalin if you want a quick primer on that.
I guess we’ll see what the summer brings, comrade.
