Lagging Behind

July 3rd, 2011 by The Sniper

It is Day 3 of the Project Valour-IT fund raising campaign and as of this posting the Marines have caught up and passed us just as I had predicted.  The numbers for Project Valour-IT at this time are as follows:

Team Army: $3,866

Team Marine Corps: $4,261

Team Navy: $1106

Team Air Farce: $171

This is simply unacceptable, people. Just based off of sheer numbers the Army should be kicking the Marine Corps’ ass. This means that either a) people aren’t getting the word out, b) people aren’t donating because they don’t have the money, or c) people aren’t donating because they just don’t care. Now, I know better than to think that it could be “b” because even a buck would help out and I know you all have a buck to spare. It cannot be “c” because you would have to be a really cold, calloused, and incredibly unpatriotic jackass to not care about our wounded troops. Eliminating the last two answers only leaves the first as a viable explanation for why we are lagging: we’re not getting the word out.

What do I need to do to boost awareness about this? I already gave you all a picture of the lovely Jamie from the USO Girls holding up a motivational poster so what more do you want? I tell you what, I will pique your interest more but you have to perform if you want rewards. You scratch my back, I scratch yours. So, behold: Kristina and Norma from Words For Warriors.

They are getting into the spirit and have done us the extreme courtesy of taking pics of their little “help us out” message for Team Army.

I have no idea where the kiddie pool factors in, but who cares: girl in a pool, right?

I think what they’re getting at here is this: we all need to help together and shoulder the load to get this done.

And I’m pretty sure what they’re saying here is “donate or somebody’s getting shot in the rooster” or something like that. You heard them: spread the word and donate.

Oh, and if we make some serious improvements vis a vis our second place position behind the Marine Corps, I think I have a certain bikini model that would be happy to help us out with a sign of her own and some pics. But you only get that if I start seeing Team Army take the lead. You’ve had your glimpse; now spread the word and give if you want any more.

Come on, Army: where’s your pride?

I’ll tell you where the kiddie pool comes in…. I’m in the desert and it’s HOTTER THAN HELL!!!! Now I’ve DONATED and I’ve done my best to inspire others to donate as well! GO TEAM ARMY!

Of course! You can count on these sisters! Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help out.

  4. [...] BTW, Team Army has a plaintive second-place cry, and some pix of pretty girls.) [...]

And Team Army has Josh Grobin. He has written a very moving song about our wounded warriors.

HardMarine~ Thanks for the compliment. I would have taken a picture in my MARINE hat but I’m afraid how The Sniper would alter it… **Shudder**

You know, it’s not really being on my team if you tell that other team that you wanted to be on their team. WTF?

  9. avatar Kristina says:

Hee hee…. you’ll pay me back for that… I know. BTW do none of your other “girl” friends have imagination? Maybe that’s why the Army has come in 2nd place the last couple years. H-E-L-L-O our sign might have been the plainest but our set up ROCKED! The fact it was in the desert in 100 degree heat just shows when we agree to do something…. WE GO ALL THE WAY!

    Just say’in.
