Uhhh, Just Where In The Bible Does It Say That?

douchebagA Phoenix-area pastor has started to draw protesters to his congregation after he delivered a sermon titled, “Why I Hate Barack Obama,” and told his parishioners that he prays for President Obama’s death.

Pastor Steven Anderson stood by his sermon in an interview with MyFOXPhoenix, which reports that the pastor continues to encourage his parishioners to join him in praying for the president’s death.

“I hope that God strikes Barack Obama with brain cancer so he can die like Ted Kennedy and I hope it happens today,” he told MyFOXPhoenix on Sunday. He called his message “spiritual warfare” and said he does not condone killing.

He does not condone killing… unless God is doing it… at his behest. Dude, using religion and your sway over religious adherents to try to bring about someone else’s death is still “killing”. It would be delicious irony if you somehow managed that and ended up dying and showing up at the Pearly Gates. How bad would that suck for you when you heard “Yeah, about that whole ‘praying for someone else’s death’ thing? Yeah, we don’t like that so much around here. It’s kind of like metaphysical contract killing. Good effort, though.”

What a douchebag.

I’m quite alright with him praying for that. I think that seems like a perfectly reasonable thing for anybody who loves this country to pray for. I personally don’t care how or why the socialist douche leaves office I just care that he leaves. I wouldn’t shed a tear for that asshole.

Actually- you can also read the Psalms or, Tehillim, and find Psalm 109 ( in most Bibles ) in which David, speaking against a ruler who hated God, Israel and the people thereof ( just like Hussein Obama does) prayed for the urgent, immediate and total destruction of the evil one and all of his clan; “Let his days be few, let another take his office; let his wife be a widow and his children be fatherless; ” you should read the whole Psalm for the full flavor… but those who have witnessed the evil and merciless rage of the ungodly visited upon the helpless and powerless, realize that such prayer is not that uncommon.

Well, that works as long as you completely discount the New Testament which is the main book upon which modern Christians base their principles. If the guy were Jewish I would totally understand because the Hebrew faith is more grounded in that whole “fire and brimstone” thing. My issue is the picking and choosing of verses to suit one’s arguments despite the fact that they are countered by other verses (that get used in different arguments).

It fascinates me when people read and quote their spiritual books like a Chinese take-out menu to fit their arguments. Some from this verse, a little from this verse, but no eggrolls please, they give me the wind.
