I guess she can’t do any worse

The Daily Beast lists the major contenders and picks Kennedy’s widow Vicki as the leader of the pack. Utah Republican Orrin Hatch — Kennedy’s longtime friend and Senate colleague — calls Vicki Kennedy “brilliant” and says she “ought to be considered.”

Hatch has spent too long in DC and is part of the Orrin Hatch Party.

And what makes Vicki Kennedy brilliant? Guinness in a bottle is brilliant. Beating Chinese Taipei in the Little League World Series is brilliant. Marrying a woman that used to be a cute summer intern in your Senate Office makes someone brilliant, just not her. (look it up)

Politico also takes note of the buzz around Mrs. Kennedy, but says it’s not clear what she’ll do yet.

Ooh, I am all atwitter.

The future of the so-called “Kennedy seat” might hinge on the late senator’s nephew Joe Kennedy.

Found it, right in the Constitution, 2 Senators for each state except for Mass which gets one. The Kennedy’s get the left over one.

A Democratic consultant says the former congressman “wouldn’t be a Kennedy if he didn’t give serious thought to running.” Former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend tells CBS her brother Joe would be “a great senator,” but adds “there are a lot of people who can carry on Senator Kennedy’s legacy.”

But I have hope, surely the same state that votes Mumbles Menino in over and over wouldn’t vote in another Kennedy because, well, they are a Kennedy. Would they?

Having been born there and haivng lived a good chunk of my life there, I can assure you that, yes, they will. If you took a dump and named it Kennedy it would have a shot in Mass.
