Welcome to the blame game… DC style. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is holding hearings on the current financial crisis on what went wrong, what to do about it, and (more importantly on the Hill) who’s to blame. Now, considering that scion of unbiased and ethical observation, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA, 30th District, ugliest man alive), is the chairman of the committee and there are 23 Democrats on the committee and only 18 Republicans, just who do you think is going to be getting the blame laid squarely at their feet here?
Despite the obvious ramifications of the CRA and the liberal policies that included giving home loans to people that really shouldn’t have gotten them based on income of dubious sources (food stamps, un-employment checks, ACORN voter registration payments, etc), the Republicans’ feet will be the ones held to the fire for this one. And the worst part? The hoi poloi will swallow every crumbling pellet of BS this committee shoves down their throats and then they’ll ask for seconds.
This is like letting a bunch of pedophiles run the school board’s panel on child abuse prevention.
