That’s because the one yesterday was closer to the surface than the LP quake. I’ve been through more than I care to count and I still don’t like them. My dad managed to have a heart attack in the middle of a late-night aftershock (doing CPR on your father at the age of 16 is not what I would call fun) and that about put me over the edge.

Ahhh, but we don’t worry about hurricanes because we build our structures with hurricanes in mind. We do not, however, build them with earthquakes in mind and that is why she shit ourselves when we get one. Put it this way: I was in the Loma Prietta and this one and this one. although small-ish, wasn’t that far off.

Funny how all the panic is covering the east coast. Out here in California, A 5.8 would make the evening news… right after the cute homeless dog stories.

The east coast should be more worried about a big ass hurricane bearing down on them, like they do numerous times every year.

Hell, at least us westsiders don’t have “earthquake season”
